Datapresser Review
Friday, September 19th, 2008This will be the first in several posts about my use of Datapresser. I first heard of Datapresser months ago and was intrigued about producing mass content on the fly and having a solution to track and monitor my content and sites.
I wanted something on the side to supplement my income and to help diversify my affiliate marketing efforts, and I was thinking of mass creating content and doing Adsense as a means of revenue. However, I learned that when creating this content.. I can actually still do affiliate marketing to a degree too.
Before I jump into the actual content creation, it is important to know that Datapresser is really well thought out with support, tracking, and of course content creation tools. Anyone with some programming skills can create a generic content creation tool, as I have done this in the past with scraping and Markov chains. However, it takes some real thought to integrate the level of tracking, support, and content creation that Datapresser is providing. This isn’t your generic PHP scraping and synonym replacement script.
No script or service is worth any amount of money unless you can get great support with it and Datapresser provides just that. The forum is very active and I can see that the members answer all the questions posted on the forum which is very nice for when you have a support issue that needs to be resolved. No more waiting days for someone to post a reply to an urgent need of yours.
The help section is also very informative and details out the most common questions I had about the service. I can quickly and easily see all that Datapresser provides and how to work the various tools within the service from this one page. It also goes into detail about how each services works ( like where it pulls the data, etc ) which is really nice to know also.
Some of the cooler tracking it does is tracking the outbound links on your sites so you can track any inter-network linking. It also tracks your inbound links too, so for someone serious with this tool, you can tell instantly if any of your sites are linking out to others and if your are getting inbound links from outside domains.
I can also see indexed pages as well, which is great for telling me how fast and how many of my pages are hitting the SERPs and what is sticking with them. It is also a great tool to tell me if I have been banned in Google as well since all my indexed pages would vanish from the stats.
A lot of people downplay the importance of tracking your content and sites. This is something that should not be overlooked as it can provide you a “health check” of your network. If checking your own sites is not your cup of tea, then try to track your competitors and see what their doing! If all this tracking is not enough, you also get RSS feeds of the most important tracking elements as well.
The real heart of this beast is the content creation. Wow, there are so many options and choices that you will have a never ending supply of content if you play with the script. First of all, your not left in the dark when it comes to creating this content. Datapresser gives you a public library of content tools so you can start creating content right out of the gate if you like.
The content creation is based on Madlibs, which in simple terms is a type of reusable content where the words can be switched out, but the format of the sentence generally stays the same. It can be hard to understand at first, but once you use the public madlibs a couple times, you start to get the hang of it. This method of content creation provides you a limitless amount of unique content at the touch of a button.
Don’t think you will be stuck with coming up with terms and keywords on your own, Datapresser provides:
1. Synonym, hyponym, and meronym alternatives
2. Reusable wildcard sets
3. Reusable keyword sets
4. Reusable link sets
When you add in the fact that there are premade, public libraries available also that can be modified to your needs and stored in your account, you realize that this is a truly robust content creation tool that can be tweaked to your hearts content.
I didn’t spend too much time tweaking all the options and playing with all the choices. I wanted to see how fast I could create content and how easy it was for someone coming into the service and I am impressed with how easy it was to get started, even without fiddling with all the options.
After the content is spun, you can save the data in 2 formats.. txt file or a wordpress back up file. Even better, it seems like you can directly upload your content right to one of your wordpress blogs. You can also set how many posts get displayed on your blog per day so you dont end up with 400 posts all at once ( big red flag ).
You also get a nicely done PDF that walks you STEP by STEP what you need to do to set up your first blog farm. You get a custom wordpress script which will make setting your blogs very easy with this system. The PDF is a key part of setting up these blogs and will make your life so much easier in understanding and using this system.
Stay tuned as I show you my exact steps in setting this system up and making my first $100 with the Datapresser system.
