Official, I Am Not For Hire.

I am sure this will make a lot of my competitors happy.

I have been doing this for a while already, but I am making it official on my blog now. Don’t email me with your “big idea”, don’t call me to ask me to work on one of your client sites, don’t contact me to work on your project. Period.

Unless you willing to drop some serious money and make me a partner, I don’t want to deal with your nickel and dime project shit you can’t get off the ground. I have plenty of my own projects, partnerships, and ideas to worry about that it would be stupid of me to drop everything to work on a project that will only net me a few hundred dollars.

I get several emails a day from people pitching their ideas to me, asking me for help, or wanting me to work on their client sites. It is kind of sad in a way, a lot of these people are other companies that sold their client SEO services and then can’t provide it once they closed the deal and have to rely on 3rd party help to get them through the project. They also expect this work to be done within their budget that they closed with their client. Meaning, if they sold them a $1000 dollar SEO package and promised them the moon, I have to deliver the moon for $500 so that the company can still make a profit from it.

I DON’T THINK SO!

Unless your serious about a project and got some money in hand, don’t bother with contacting me. I can give out some free ( limited ) advice for you, but I am not about to start helping you rank in the search engines when I am doing it for myself already.

What’s going on man, why the bad talk about competitors, … come on. You’re an adult, and if potential clients are reading your blogs you sound like a jerk, I personally know that you aren’t. Don’t post crap like this; I made my mistakes with this before, and as you know I am a young guy.

I’ve lost respect for a few “agencies” in town, but let’s not go overboard by insulting them with blog posts. I’ll gladly except your challenge and raise it to $5,000 cash. Still care to go forward? Let me know.

Come on man, why the fake name, email, and URL? That is why I can’t take people serious in this town, no one has balls or guts to say what they really feel and be honest about who they are/what they do. I know I was once in that position a long time ago myself, but at some point you have to realize whats going on around you.

There is only one guy in town that could come on this blog and say the things they did and know me like you have. I understand why you used a fake name, email and URL.. really I do. No one wants to jeopardize their career or name with a blog response and I understand that.

But here is the deal. If this is who I really think it is, me and you have talked for some time about all the issues I present on my blog and you know I am telling it like it really is. I don’t point out all the competitors I would like to, but I am pointing out the ones that really need to pack up and leave town or find a new niche. Me and you both know these guys have no clue to what they are trying to sell the local folks, thats why MANY of them have contacted both me and you at some point in time to contract out their work to US, because they have no clue how to even do it.

The way I look at it, the longer they are in town and in business, they are hurting the real professionals that are trying to make a real living at this.

They hire a bunch of commission based, entry level sales people… undercut all the competition by a large margin to win the sale, and then provide a shitty service to the customer who in return has a bad taste in their mouth about the whole experience and most likely has a negative view on “SEO” or “Web” people. You know what I am talking about and it happens everyday. All it does it makes it harder for people like you and me to make the honest living and clean up their mess.

I find it funny these guys are selling services that they have no man power for either. I can talk to clients and they will tell me “Company XYZ was just here selling me SEO services” and then I just happen to see company XYZ put a ad in the CJ for a search engine person to hire too the same day.

As far as potential clients, I don’t care really. If they want to read this blog and make a decision without talking to me first, then so be it as that is a customer I don’t want anyway. They can run to these other companies and get ripped off since they didn’t take the the time to be informed in the first place. I have also started a “no client” policy at the beginning of the year anyways as I don’t really have the time or want for clients anymore.

I have also said for years that “A real SEO professional doesn’t need clients”. What I mean by this is that if you are really good at Internet marketing, why in the world would you build and promote sites for other people? You could be building your own empire, driving traffic to it, and making your own money.

No more worries about when you will get paid, how much you will get paid, competitors trying to bash you or undercut you/steal your client, and no more worries to having to meet deadlines and kissing ass.

This here is the good life man, you should come join me as I have put the offer out there to you many times before.
